We stock a wide range of standard ‘traditional’ and bespoke packaging materials. When assessing the right type of packaging material for you, we will, firstly, establish the primary intended outcome, which could be product protection, packaging presentation and aesthetics, packaging cost reduction, ease of disposal or a combination of some or all of these.
Risks such as abrasion, shock, destination climate and mode of transport will also be considered in order to find the most appropriate and cost-effective packaging solution.
Packaging materials choice
When reviewing your current packaging solution, it could be that there is a better alternative material for your application – either providing better protection for the same price or the same level of protection at lower cost. If storage space in your warehouse is at a premium, we may recommend a system solution or a just-in-time delivery approach. It could be that environmental aspirations are an essential part of your purchasing decision and this may mean a fully recyclable solution.
Essential packaging materials for protection
If the requirement is for a cost-effective and lightweight solution to protect your product from the risk of shock, vibration and abrasion, a simple corrugated paper roll or pad may be best. For longer journeys, or where additional protection is required, a bubble-film product may suit.
In cases where your product is particularly fragile and susceptible to vibration or shock risk, the recommendation may be to fully enclose your product in a bespoke moulded cushion to fit the contours of the product itself.
Anti corrosion solutions
If your product is at risk of corrosion, we have a wide range of potential solutions available. Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors protect both accessible and inaccessible metal surfaces. Paper and polythene are the most commonly used formats. Desiccants remove and store excess moisture from within a package. Enclosing your product in a controlled, sealed environment on its journey can be key in negating corrosion risk and we may recommend a barrier foil solution, with either a VCI product and/or desiccant.
Complementary standard packaging materials
We also stock a wide range of complementary standard packaging materials such as:
- polythene stretchwrap
- packaging tapes (including vinyl, cross-woven filament, masking, and pre-printed tapes)
- document enclosed envelope labels
- strapping (including polypropylene, steel, and pre-printed)
