Rosewood’s thermoplastic protective sleeving is highly elastic extruded polymer netting that is manufactured from a polyethylene resin. It provides a practical, efficient and cost-effective solution to protecting components from surface damage during transit and handling.

The netting has the property of contraction after application and, therefore, awkwardly positioned areas of a product can be protected to the same level as a straight cylindrical product. A major consequence of the ‘memory’ effect of the netting is that it can be used and re-used several times unlike other ‘one-trip’ surface packaging, aiding the reduction of packaging waste obligations. The mesh is flexible enough to mould around irregular products and sharp edges and offers a high level of protection against shock and abrasion hazards that may be encountered during manufacture, storage and transit.

Thermoplastic protective sleeving is both easy to apply and to remove from products and packing/unpacking labour costs are frequently less than those of other surface protective packaging materials. It is resistant to acids and solvents, is unaffected by oil and grease and does not attract humidity, providing a long-lasting packaging solution.

  • Protects highly finished surfaces, reducing the risk of scratching.
  • Has memory effect and can be reused.
  • Protects corners and edges of components.
  • Moulds around irregularly shaped and sharp products.
