Shockwatch® indicators are precision impact detection devices that sense and indicate the level of shock that a carton has been subjected to. The indicators are mounted on labels that affix directly onto outer packages. Each indicator contains a glass tube, filled with a clear liquid that turns to red if a carton is dropped or mishandled. Normal movement or transit shock will not activate the devices. The indicators cannot be reset and this provides indisputable evidence that excessive impact has occured.

Rosewood supplies Shockwatch® indicators at five different levels of sensitivity. Each one is designed to activate when a package drops from a particular height. These approximate heights are also an indicator of the rate or force at which the package would hit the ground (the G rating). The choice of indicator will be dependent, in the main, upon the nature of the product and the internal and external packaging.

Shockwatch® indicators can reduce product damage by preventing mishandling, identifying problematic routes and alerting the consignee to any potential hidden damage.
