In addition to the standard method of flat-pack delivery, we can also provide pre-assembled packaging products. This is a particularly attractive option where a pack set-up is complex and, therefore, time-consuming. It also assists where customers’ production lines require packaging, such as stitched, heavy-duty corrugated boxes, to be ready for use on delivery. Equally, where a customer has limited availability of packing personnel or restricted space for packing areas, our service can provide a convenient and economic solution.
A stock-and-serve arrangement can be an effective method to maintain a minimum level of stock at a customer’s warehouse. We can manufacture packaging products to a pre-agreed volume and store the goods on our premises. A customer can then gradually call-off stock, as it becomes required. A further benefit of producing a higher volume of packaging is the economies of scale on unit cost and we can pass the savings onto our customers. Stock-and-serve, in effect, provides the economic benefits of batch production without taking up space at a customer’s site.
Typically, VMI involves a dedicated member of Rosewood’s staff visiting a customer’s site at a set frequency which could be daily, weekly or less often. They will count and record stock levels of packaging products, and, when a re-order level is reached, Rosewood will replenish stock to a pre-agreed level.
VMI enables stock levels to be kept to a minimum as well as reducing the frequency of order processing times and stock management operations. As a result, customers can achieve considerable operational savings.
