    Classic Timber Packaging Products

Girth battened timber cases & crates remain one of the most widely preferred packaging containers for mainstream industrial and commercial export operations. The case design has excellent compression and burst strength to combat numerous hazards met on sea freight journeys. Where security & weather conditions are not major hazards, open boarded timber crates are an economic alternative.

Cases manufactured from plywood and orientated strand boards (OSB) have exceptional strength/weight ratio and are, therefore, ideal where package weight is a major consideration. Text image

Case and crate base designs can vary to suit different loads and applications. The rigidity of the case may be of greater importance for fragile goods, whilst the strength of the base would be an essential consideration for heavy and large packages.  Many case style variations are manufactured from plywood & OSB and the designs can be replicated as open-board crate constructions.

Wood, corrugated board, foam, polyethylene and polystyrene internal fitments can be applied to prevent product movement during transit and storage. High strength pull-up steel toggle latches or steel hasp & staples can assist where a package needs to be opened or re-used. For light packages, lifting aids such as chest handles or rope handles can be applied and for heavy packages, steel lifting plates can be added for chain haulage.
