The laboratory can provide support to Rosewood’s heavy-duty packaging design and development process with board analysis, pack assessment and pack performance tests. This includes, for example, burst, vibration, edge crush and drop testing. The Tri-Wall laboratory is also an UKAS accredited test centre and can, therefore, undertake UN pack testing.
The design library catalogues a vast range of Tri-Wall’s packaging designs, including their award winning products. It provides a detailed and authorative source of information for our packaging designers which assists, complements and accelerates our packaging design process.
There are 25 standard Tri-Wall board grades, ranging from 3mm (C), to 15mm (AAA). The weight of the papers and the flute profiles differentiates each grade. The papers contain wet strength resins and are bonded using wet strength adhesives to give unrivaled performance in moist or humid conditions. The boards can also be supplied with a range of coatings to offer greater protection against moisture. In addition, specific board grades are produced to meet the rigorous requirements of Ministry of Defence specifications.
There are several performance advantages of using Tri-Wall over standard sawn timber packaging. Its excellent comparative strength to weight ratio makes significant savings on air freight costs and because Tri-wall is hygienic & splinter free, it is suitable for clean environment conditions. Tri-Wall is readily ISPM15 compliant and is biodegradable & recyclable.
Rosewood can manufacture standard FEFCO case code designs from Tri-Wall board, thereby combining the widely accepted advantages of the FEFCO designs, together with the high performance characteristics of the board. We can also design bespoke Tri-Wall transit packaging that will protect products against hazards to the pack that it may encounter during transportation.
Tri-Wall internal fitments can secure and cushion a product inside a pack or enable packs to be stacked without damaging the products from over-stowing. This demonstrates the versatility of Tri-Wall and the strength of its characteristics.
