Rosewood’s expert sales staff have specialist knowledge about conventional corrugated board, its performance, board grades, flexibility and properties such as the validity of heavier grade, stitched boxes, for example. We have an immediate appreciation of the issues concerned with transporting, moving and storing products safely & efficiently and without incurring damage.
A carton’s strength can be attributed both to its design and the board grade. The latter can range from single fluting to combinations of double wall corrugated. B and C flutes, for example, are a common combination for double wall cartons that increases the resistance of the packaging.
One of our greatest strengths is our technical design team who facilitate a responsive, innovative approach to developing and manufacturing die-cut packaging solutions. When designing or redesigning corrugated packaging, we take all factors into consideration including the product dimensions, type, quantity and weight, the required stacking strength of the pack, how the pack will be transported, the destination and storage and whether a presentation print finish is required. For example, electronic components may require the board to have an anti-static coating that will protect the products from static charges or desiccants may be required to be added to a pack to protect the products from moist climatic conditions.
Internal fitments can be incorporated into the total pack design, ensuring that products remain static and undamaged during transit and storage. They can be produced from corrugated board or other materials such as foam, polyethylene or polystyrene, according to the nature of the application.
Rosewood has expertise in applying Computer Aided Design software to take a project from conception through to design and prototyping for hand-cut samples, printed where required, which demonstrate the features and benefits of the packaging, before an order is placed. We can also provide die-cut samples, to scale, to visually showcase the efficiencies of larger packaging designs.
For many of our customers, print work is an integral part of the packaging design. It can range from screen printed 1 colour branding, bar codes, information and sales message to 4 colour process litho-printed, high impact graphic display and retail ready packaging.
Rosewood has the experience and inhouse expertise to design shelf ready packaging designs that make the most effective use of shelf space and reduce shelf stacking labour. Whilst the packaging design will be structured to protect the products from damage whilst in transit and storage, it can be readily converted into a shelf ready display tray. The incorporation of an easy to remove, perforated section will leave a tidy edge that doesn’t compromise the print proposition. The tray can simply be placed straight into a shelf space.
In addition, the printed graphics will enable products to be easily identified in the warehouse and, importantly, they will attract the attention of the consumer. The uniformity of the packs will enable them to be fast and easy to palletize, saving on costs where an increased bulk can be delivered at any one time, reducing the number of number of deliveries required.
