Our container desiccant bags hold an adsorbent mixture of specially formulated naturally occurring materials. The desiccants bags can be used within sea, truck and air shipment containers and they can adsorb over 85% of their weight in moisture. They can adsorb atmospheric moisture within containers and lower the dew-point to such an extent that condensation does not occur. As the container moves through different temperature and humidity changes, the desiccant granules detect this and work faster to ensure that dew-point is never reached. This intelligent reaction means that the material does not waste its valuable capacity and it can continue to provide 40 days of moisture control and protection.
The bag is manufactured from Tyvek® which is FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) approved. Container desiccants are typically used to protect machinery, auto parts, electrical products, cartons, paper, food, pharmaceutical products as well as being used for other general applications. Rosewood supplies a range of sizes of off-the-shelf container desiccant bags. In general, 14kilos of container desiccant will protect a 20ft container for a transit time of 30-40 days. Bags are packed in cartons ready for use.
Rosewood offers an optional bespoke service for the supply of silica gel and activated clay sachets. They can be printed with a customer logo, be made up to contain a specified volume of desiccant and can by individually wrapped or wrapped in packs to avoid wastage.
