In order to provide greater protection to the product, options such as fitments, internal dunnage, stencilling and lining can be considered for all cases and crates. A high strength pull-up steel toggle latch or steel hasp and staples can be fitted where the package needs to be opened and re-used. This is applicable when the package is expected to make more than one journey or requires periodic inspection. A lock can be added to provide extra security. For light packages, lifting aids such as chest handles or rope handles can be applied. For heavy packages that are lifted by chains, Rosewood can apply one of a wide range of steel lifting plates to prevent the chains from impressing into and damaging the base.

Rosewood can quickly cut bespoke stencils that are manufactured using either canary oil board or reusable zinc plate. They can be used with a stencil paint to add destination addresses and carrier information onto cases and crates. We also stock international symbol stencils that include Fragile, Keep Dry, Use No Hooks, Sling Here, This Way Up, Use No Forklift Trucks and Keep Away From Heat.
We can either stencil cases and crates on-site or supply the stencils and paints to enable customer application. Further details can be found in our Packaging Materials catalogue.

Our cases can be lined with material that will protect products from moisture contact. We can, for example, apply kraft union paper with a high level of waterproof, tear and puncture resistance, strong blue cap polythene or volatile corrosion inhibitor (VCI) paper/polythene.
VCIs are a group of products that protect metal surfaces from attack by corrosion accelerating agents such as moisture, salt air, airborne acids and contaminants. VCI polythene can be multi-purpose because it can be used as a lining material that also protects products from tarnishing and being transparent goods can be inspected at any time.
In order to prevent product movement during transit and storage, internal fitments can be added and they can be manufactured in the same or in a different material to the timber packaging. Rosewood is also a manufacturer of cardboard packaging and has strategic alliances with suppliers of a comprehensive range of packaging materials including foam, polyethylene and polystyrene. This enables us to ensure, without prejudice, that the most appropriate material is used for an application.
