Over a period of time and when subjected to knocks, bumps and vibration and under load, standard bubble film will loose air because polythene has poor air retention. AirCap® bubble however, is uniquely designed to retain air and to provide enduring product protection.

AirCap® is manufactured by co-extruding a nylon (polyamide) air retention barrier that seals each bubble against air loss and ensures that it is 100 times more resistant to the passage of air than a single layer of polythene.

When goods are transported by air, cargo holds are normally pressurised to 30% less than at ground level. This results in higher pressure inside each bubble that would accelerate the rate of air loss from ordinary bubble film. However, the nylon barrier inside AirCap® bubbles prevents air loss.

Rosewood supplies AirCap® in small and large bubble formats. This includes small C40 lightweight bubble film that is popular, economical and widely used for wrapping and packing applications. AirCap® T100 large bubble film has increased thickness and is versatile for cushioning fragile products such as small appliances and ceramics.

Rosewood can also provide a wider range of bubble film including extra-large bubbles D90 lightweight and D120 heavy-duty film. D90 is specifically designed for voidfill or cushioning for fragile and medium items such as glassware and electronic instruments and D120 provides a high level of cushioning that meets Ministry of Defence specifications.
